This year has been bad for the world and devastating for small family businesses.

Being empathetic with this cause while using your visibility is something to be faced in a positive way.

If a place chooses to call you and offer a stay - it’s their choice of how to spend marketing money.

If you call a place to ask for free nights - you’re just pushing them.

Calling to ask for free nights in return of Instagram publicity is leading to a lot of places being tired of “influencers” and putting everyone in the same bag. I have been hearing from different places “we don’t even use IG anymore as we had daily calls of influencers wanting free stays. We have bills to pay too”.

The local economy needs our help, small businesses need our help. Pay what you order, offer a partnership to work together on something, help spreading the word when you believe the business or the product is really good.

Leave them a choice and remember they also have families, bills and staff to pay.

Help others by showing their business or to help someone find exactly what they were looking for.

Accept offers and do your best but think before calling for free products with nothing but some posts to offer, this is not the year for that.
